GBM2 Coarse Mortar 25kg
Traditional brick and stone buildings rely on lime mortar to hold everything together. Lime has been used in construction, in one form or another, for thousands of years. It’s almost legendary status as one of the most reliable building materials is due to its remarkable strength, durability and weather-resistance.
Lime mortar is created by slaking quicklime in water, which produces a putty that sets hard when exposed to air. At Limebase, we pride ourselves in knowing a thing or two about using lime in construction. Over the past 20 years, Limebase has been instrumental in the repair and restoration in a number of historic and traditional buildings, including major projects and cathedrals at Salisbury, Westminster abbey, Windsor castle, tower of london and white tower
