Fine-washed building sand is used for fine finishes or to enable you to tighten up the face on render or plaster. This product can be used for any exterior masonry work and is also a good choice when it comes to creating render finishes for brick, block, and stonework. We use this sand in combination with our CWS2 sand to make a good render. CWS2 sand is a coarse building sand, we add this fine-washed sand as it helps the plasterer to ‘close the face’ or create a nice smooth textured finish.
It can be used for general building and landscaping projects and for external rendering. It has sharp aggregates and is easily mixed with our putty for mortar applications. Fine-washed building sand is washed to remove any clays and silts that would cause a bad set on the mortar.
