Stone Dusts

Stone dust is formed when stones are processed through a crushing machine to create crushed stone, or in this case, stone dust. Stone dust is typically used to add colour and make lime mortars more workable.

You can use our range of stone dusts to add a desired colour to your mortar or plaster, in addition to adding colour stone dusts when used correctly can help to increase a mortar or plasters plasticity, this makes the mix as a whole far more workable and thus user friendly. Stone dusts can also be utilised to help match an existing mortar, for example our hamstone dust can be used to help match an existing warm orange coloured mortar, helping to preserve the buildings original appearance.
