Taunton Red Coarse Building/Pointing Lime Putty Mortar - TM12
Mixed specifically for use in historic architectural projects, our TM12 Coarse Mortar produces a stronger bond between old and new building sections. Lime has historically been used in building work and restoration projects due to it's close aesthetical similarities to aged brick and ancient bonding methods. Here, we reproduce this product in the modern day to ensure older buildings are able to maintain their visual accuracy.
Our coarse mortar is made by forming a balanced mix of lime, sand, grit and stonedust. This helps to improve it's structural integrity and produces a strong and durable bonding agent. Lime is also known for its breathability, allowing a building to expand and shrink along with changing weather situations. This coarse lime mortar is noted for it's reduced susceptibility to cracking and its pink/red colouring. When used effectively, it allows historical buildings to be returned to their structural integrity without challenging the look of the period or architectural movement.
With over 20 years experience in the renovation and restoration of traditional buildings, we promise to deliver high-quality products that are as historically accurate as possible. This TM12 Coarse Mortar is available in 25kg bags or to pre-order in bulk bags of half tonne or one tonne dumpy bags.
